The
excellent electrical insulation properties of glass fibers combined with their
high strength makes them the preferred choice for many electrical and
telecommunications applications. For example, electrical and transmission
poles, fiber optic cables, insulator rods, laminates, cable trays and ladders
are often manufactured with glass fiber composites. Critical electrical
properties, such as dielectric strength, dissipation factor, breakdown voltage,
and surface and volume resistivity, are met by glass fiber composites for
electrical and telecommunication applications.
The
Fiberex 408,

and 503,
510 series of
single end
roving, WR series of woven roving,
and CR series of
multi-end
roving are used in products made by filament winding, pultrusion, and
contact or compression molding for use in numerous applications in both the
electrical and telecommunication sectors.
